Quick Explanation & Apology
So everyone's probably noticed (not priced, spellcheck) that I've been pretty inactive on this blog lately. Well there are a few good reasons for that.
1) I'm not in art this trimester so I don't get reminded to keep going on here, and I'm super forgetful so that doesn't help either.
2) I've been busy with a lot of stuff and things. Specifically life.
3) I've been working on using an app on IOS called PicCollage and other apps on my iPad called Flipagram and iMovie. (Full credit to the people who made them, they are amazing!) With these last two combined with XSketchbookX (again, amazing app! I don't own anything to it but go check it out!) I was able to make the following animation which actually looks amazing! By using Flipagram I could make an actual video out of my previous Firestar Running animation (which I DO own). Using iMovie I could put the animation together with pictures and other animations I made, along with music. All of the art and animations, therefore, belong to me, but the song is 'I Dare You To Move' by Switchfoot. They have all rights to the song because they made it. (It's an awesome song by the way, you should watch the whole thing on YouTube!)
So I'm sorry for not updating and posting things on this blog as much as I probably could have. There are just a lot of things coming up and I'm pretty tight on time as it is!

The Animation
So, about making this animation:
1) I was bored. OK, so like most great things start out, I was super bored on a Saturday afternoon. I was looking through a lot of my failed attempts at animating (the few sets of frames that were scrapped), and I thought, 'why not try doing some animation to a song again?'
2) I found the apps needed. I have an overabundance of useful (and useless) apps on my personal IPad. I had already created a redo video of my Firestar Cat Running animation using Flipnote (don't own the amazing app), so I figured the rest couldn't be that hard, right?
3) I collected all of the pieces I needed. This includes the song 'I Dare You To Move' by Switchfoot (I don't own this song, but it's awesome). I didn't want to go and do the whole song because, ugh, animating and lack of pictures/frame sets! I was bored but I didn't really feel like making a whole lot of new frames just for one video. I used IMovie (another app that I don't own) to put the audio, short animation videos, and pictures together nicely.
4) Trial and error testing. So after I got everything I wanted in there I had to make sure that everything moved in time to the music the way I wanted it to. Believe it or not, this step actually took longer then actually putting the whole thing together. I had to replay a section of the song about 12 times to get the running animations to line up right with the other photos, and then I had o add photos to compensate for the editing! Then I had to edit those new photos in correctly!

Art
Even though I used a variety of technology, media, and creativity to make this short video I DO own all of the art in it! SO everything you see in this video I drew. I used bases or lineart/outlines for some of it, but for the most part it was me editing, drawing/tracing, coloring, lengthening, shortening, etc. to get the drawing/sketch to look exactly like I wanted it to. All of the art is also done over a long period of time. The oldest drawing I have in the animation is the crying purplish dragon which I did over a year ago. The newest is probably the picture of my OC (Original/Own Character) Firestar wearing the crudely draw mask (I hand-drew the mask and it was a pain!) Speaking about OC's, some of my OC's that were in this animation include: Firestar (a lot of Firestar), Prim and Rose (Cream-colored cats with pink collars), and D.S. (the black cat with bright blue eyes-villain). I do hope you enjoy it because, trust me, it was no small feat to edit this all in!
