Graffiti Tags
| For some people who don't know what graffiti tags are, here's a quick overview. Graffiti tags are a lot like signatures in the graffiti world. They are usually bright and expressive, but they don't have to be. Sometimes people will just paint the tag, other times they'll add the tag onto their graffiti like an artist would his signature. All graffiti tags are different. The graffiti tag isn't just their name, they usually choose a nickname as well as incorporate their personality into the tag. Making graffiti tags some of the most expressive signatures in the world. |
How to do this1. Get inspired and think of a nickname. Remember that the style you write is completely optional-it doesn't even have to be legible! 2. Draw around it. Think about yourself and draw things that you like or that you feel incorporate yourself. Or you can just think about yourself and start drawing while you do that, it doesn't need a lot of thought put in as long as it reflects you. 3. Add some color if you want! Personally, I love colors, but you don't have to have any if that reflect you better. Also, I used the ArtRage3 app for the iPad again,I love it! | |
A Few Meanings
So this is my tag I did for art class. We had to choose the word in the middle (the nickname if you will) with a partner. Since we both have and love animals we chose 'Paws'. Now I could go into symbolism all day because there's a lot of that here, but I'll just cover a few things. The dragon in the middle is because I love dragons, I draw them all he time. His expression is what I feel like my expression is all the time. Behind the bat there is a Minecraft block, pretty explanatory. Below the bat is a cat face who is based off of two of my OC's, Prim and Rose.
Of course there is more to the picture but I don't feel like explaining the rest, plus I'm running out of space here, so yeah. It has it's own secrets and hidden meanings in there, most people wouldn't understand it anyways.
Next to her there is a stick figure walking over homework, if you follow the trail the homework becomes drawings. I doodle on everything. I'm no joking, ask my teachers. The eye is a representation of 4 of my OC's, Prim, Rose, Firestar, and DS. There's also a red, white, and blue horse with stars, a representation of being American. However, if you know the Chinese flag, It's red with four gold stars, one big one in the middle. Above that there is a keyboard with notes and both clefs on it (music people know what I'm talking about, it'll give all the others treble). Lastly, above on the top right corner there are crosses cleverly disguised as flowers.Of course there is more to the picture but I don't feel like explaining the rest, plus I'm running out of space here, so yeah. It has it's own secrets and hidden meanings in there, most people wouldn't understand it anyways.
